The three price points
We build walk-in showers in three packages. Each is a fixed price in writing after we measure your bathroom.
| Package | Price | Days | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Good | $9,800 | 4 | Old tub or shower removed, full waterproofing, standard-format porcelain walls, framed glass door, rain head and handheld, new valve |
| Better | $14,500 | 5 | Large-format porcelain walls and floor, fixed frameless panel, niche, low-curb or curbless entry, bench option |
| Best | $19,900 | 6 | Full frameless enclosure, stone or slab-look walls, bench and double niche, linear drain, thermostatic valve with dual heads |
Oversized showers, steam, or a drain that has to move push past the Best package toward $24,000.
What moves the price
- Tile. Standard porcelain is the value choice. Large-format and natural stone cost more to buy and more to set, because the cutting and leveling take longer.
- Glass. A framed door is the least expensive. A fixed frameless panel sits in the middle. A full frameless enclosure is the top of the range.
- The drain. Keeping the drain where it is costs nothing extra. Moving it means cutting the slab.
- The entry. A low curb is simple. A true curbless entry needs the shower floor recessed or the bathroom floor built up.
Phoenix-specific costs to know about
Almost every Valley home sits on a concrete slab, and many homes built from the 1990s on have post-tension cables in that slab. Those cables cannot be cut. If your slab is post-tension, a curbless shower or a moved drain has to be planned around the cables, which we confirm at the in-home visit before pricing anything.
Hard water is the other local factor. Porcelain tile with epoxy grout stands up to calcium. Natural stone needs regular sealing here, so budget for the upkeep if you choose it.
What the price should include
A real walk-in shower price covers demo and haul-away, a named waterproofing system, tile and setting materials, the glass, the valve and fixtures, and the permit when plumbing changes. If a quote is far below $9,800, check which of those is missing. Glass and waterproofing are the two items most often left out of a low number.
Glass is measured after the tile is finished and installed about a week later, so the shower is usable for a few days with a curtain before the glass arrives.
